GM Mode in Online Leagues

I have our members set to GM Only mode, simply because I like to keep the original GMs in the game, and they auto-demote to assistant GM.

Anyway, some teams can still go into their Manager Options and handle lineups/staff, setting them to manual, while other teams cannot. I can't seem to find the consistency in why some guys can and others are unable to.

Does anyone know?

It all depends on the specific manager's personality. Some allow more control than others.

GM only for online leagues is basically on the honors system due to (as stated above) Different Managers allow different levels of control. Other than editing every Manager hired to have a "controlling" personality there isn't anything you can do. But that would accomplish the goal of not having any GM's be able to handle lineups and depth charts

It sounds like we're actually excited to work with it as is--some teams will have tighter leashes. It really makes for some fun story lines. We came to the conclusion in the league chat that even as it stands now, we still have FAR more control than most GMs do in OOTP.

Thanks, guys!

The good news is, it's usually the better managers who want total control, so yes it makes for some interesting decisions and story lines

What's weird is some guys can alter the control settings one day, but then suddenly not be able to.

Seems to be an inconsistent pattern.

How come this isn't checked in our online league? This is my team, which has always been under human control as commissioner.

Team Settings

Is this normal to be like that? Seems backwards!

From the OOTP manual description of that setting:

Quote:
Prevents the AI from making any roster changes to any teams in the selected league and any affiliated leagues. This is typically only used by players who wish to control every aspect of every team throughout their leagues.
So, basically if the team is under human control that checkbox is meaningless. It is meant as a means to freeze AI teams.
