OOTP 15 vs OOTP 16 League Start Up

I will be purchasing OOTP 16 in about 10 Days. I have OOTP 15 and only played it a little bit (personal reasons going on the past 8 months). I only played test leagues and never a serious league.

My point and question -

Should I just wait to play/get in to my serious league when I purchase OOTP 16 or with ten days left, should I just go ahead and start it in OOTP 15 and then import it over to OOTP 16? I ask because I have the MLB/American feeder mod and I'm not sure it will work in OOTP 16, but it imported fin as a template in OOTP 15. I just don't want to waste my time setting up OOTP 15 if the mods I am using wont work in OOTP 16. I hope I'm making some sense here...

Potential compatibility problems with the template in OOTP16.
