Can the trade log be edited to delete a trade that was reversed by the commissioner? If so, does this also eliminate the "acquired via" notation on the player card?

Unfortunately, I don't believe so on either count.

If you dig into the saved game files, there are a bunch of text files for team history and player history. You might be able to get somewhere poking around in there although it's a little risky.

The file that contains the data is trades.dat but it cannot be edited with a text editor without destroying the integrity of the file.
