My first 20 game day!

played very version since v1 and have had many a marathon session. But yesterday was a new record.

combination of wife traveling for work, taking the day off and a team I am really enjoying kicking off a new season yesterday was the first day I have played out a full 20 games in one day. Also didn't hurt that I went 18-2!

I did manage to take my youngest to practice and even get in 5 miles of exercise, but what a great day to get lost in my OOTP universe.

this play on my TV in the background didn't hurt either. reminds me of all the reasons I love the game.

Wow. I haven't played out three weeks in a long time. Of course I don't blame diminishing stamina, no-no, I'm still a 15 on a 20 scale! I blame my team in shambles which makes me want to cut myself by the end of the first week, usually.

yes, nothing like a good young fun winning team to press that "one more game" button

Outstanding! If I get two series in, I feel pretty good about the day. Plus finding the time to review Draft Pools, trade proposals, etc... Some nights are spent just doing those GM things. It's a magnificent distraction.

Y'all make think I need a 12 step program or something. I play short play by play instant. It's nothing for me to roll thru 40+ games on a Saturday or Sunday. Of course, I mostly just watch, so there isn't a lot of thinking involved

This makes me a liiiiiitle self conscious as a single, 24 year old HS teacher who started in 2015 at the end of June and am now in 2030…. Though I don't play out the whole game pitch by pitch. Just half inning by half inning unil the 6th or so w/ pitching changes.

Jealousy!

I have played long strings at the end of a season before when my team is in the playoffs, but probably not that many. But I usually sim the first 5 half innings or so with "sim until runners in scoring position", so maybe that is not the same thing.

I'm a "newb" at the game, but know the fever!

So, the question becomes, are the 10-20 game marathons worse than waking up at 3 AM and thinking to yourself, 'I've got three hours before I've got to be at work . . . . that's at least four games!'

Oh, and my team is pathetic!

Don't be silly. Three hours are easily seven games, including two extra inning contest, and I include typing up all the misery of MY pathetic team for the dynasty board, AND two 10-minute breaks for crying because they couldn't score with three on and no outs while looking out of the window.

So, c'mon, efficiency, efficiency!

That's what they all say.

I don't play out the whole game. I don't use pitch by pitch. I only take a half inning at a time. Besides I'm a professional. I have a college education. I'm not like one of those people.

I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about. I could stop playing right now if I wanted to. I have over 50 games in my Steam library. I could play any one of those, if I wanted to.

Then one day someone tells you if you're gonna play half inning-by-half inning you might as well play 1-pitch. And if you're gonna play 1-pitch you might as well play pitch-by-pitch.

It all starts off with a quick little season season-sim...just to see if you like it.
