How to disable creating baseball cards?

Thanks

Game Settings --> Players & Facegen --> Look for the option in the center of the screen.

I'd be happy if the baseball card feature were Off by default. It takes an incredible amount of time on my computer.

Same here, for minimal gain.

It's a checkbox...and quite a few of us get a ton of gain, thank you very much.

My problem is that it can take a half hour-plus, and it's easy to forget a checkbox.

I would have no issue with it off by default, but we already have a great many users who never see it and go "wow, that's so neat." Especially since they revamped it this year to enable us to change sets between years completely automated.

I feel your pain, though...

Minimal gain TO YOU. Not to everyone.

It would be just as easy for those who want bb cards to forget the check-box and since you can't retroactively create cards making cards on by default is the only way to go.

I don't use cards but I do believe it should be a default on option. Just because some users have a slow computers doesn't mean options should be turned off by default. Think about it like this. For users who want bb cards in their league who forget the check-box and miss a year of cards it's a game breaker, to them, and they have to start over. For users with slow computers it's ONLY a waste of time ONCE. Then you remember the check-box and it doesn't happen again.

I do however believe that cards could and should be optimized. Card creation is extremely slow.

This is another one of those threads were everyone is going to jump on and generalize their option as majority thought. Just because you don't like cards doesn't mean there aren't a hole bunch of people who do and vice versa. As I stated it's much easier for those who don't want cards then it is for those who want them and miss a year or two of cards before they realize they weren't generating.

In defense of the notion that it really needs to be optimized, and to dissuade the notion that a "slow computer" is the culprit, my computer is an expensive powerhouse that routinely handles tasks that seem more intimidating than anything OOTP can do.

However, much to my surprise, when you have a handful of minor leagues added into the mix, it stalls for so long on baseball card creation when autoplaying through just a couple of months that I had the time to Google whether or not other people experienced this problem, read this entire thread, register an account, activate the account and post this before it was finished!

What does this even do? Everything you could want to see is on the player's profile. For people who really enjoy this feature, what do you gain from it? I'm curious.

Ask someone irl why they collect baseball cards when they could just go to MLB.com to get the stats.

I like and enjoy seeing the baseball card, but I will tell you when I get to my All-Star break. I get up, get a sandwich, read a book, et al because of the time it takes my computer to run the making of the cards. It is like there is a little elf or imp (take your pic) with a hand press in my computer!

I don't like the feature but I know it's a big deal to some... lots of guys worked hard to make templates for old card styles, for example.

However, I'm definitely in the "uncheck the box" camp and wish it were off by default. But I catch it within a sim year or two.

What I have noticed: the Hall of Fame uses cards excusively, and I can't find a place to get rid of that. I really dislike this and wish it could be disabled somehow. That HOF display is fugly.

Do people collect baseball cards anymore? I've got a worthless collection in my closet that says no.

I like the cards but agree that it takes too long, even on my desktop with the I7 140 Watt processor.
