Most important positions to draft first in fantasy?

I was throwing around the idea of emptying all 30 teams into a fantasy draft. I was hoping I could get some advice on which positions are the most important ones to draft say in the first five spots? Starting pitcher and starting catcher with picks 1 and 2 so you create your battery? Center field 3rd pick so you have that middle defense all set? Closer 3rd? A good shortstop with picks 4 or 5? Etc.. etc.

What is good advice to build my team and start with what's absolute most important?

Follow up question....have any of you done this to see what kind of GM you really are by building an complete franchise from scratch??

I have done it, it was really fun.

I looked for the best player at each pick that was still young (27 and younger). I would prefer to built from the mound first but if I get better talent elseware I will take it. Once young developed talent diminished I went back and forth between aging talent and top prospects.
I drafted expecting to be bad for 2-3 seasons and then be far and away the best team for 10+ years after.
Money was sketchy for a season or two because I was sooooo bad.

Last time I dumped everyone and did tit, I had an ok team. i had the 3rd pick overall and took Harper . Trout went #1 and Kershaw #2,
I try to get a #1 SP and then a few middle of the lineup hitters. While i like defense i dont concern myself with that overall in a fantasy draft.
I had Sale, Abreu, Rizzo, d'Arnaud, Melky, Wong, Rios, forgot who else.

This time, I went for best player that I could grab. Got a 35 year old 1B with pop, still have him 6 years later and one MVP later and a 36 year old 2B with lots of speed, 5 time All Star, still have him at 41 but he has been on the DL for this whole 6th year.
I have tried the super young route and been murdered the first season or two, but it is all fun! So many ways to go, good pitching, good hitting, old, young, good D, all righties. Love this game!
