League Idea Viability
Im about to start a new league (that I hope to carry over to 17) shortly but I wanted some input on how well it would work before I waste a lot of time. Ill probably test it myself some bit but its always useful to use the wealth of knowledge here in case anyone has done something similar.
The idea is to have 10ish different leagues and then one super league. Each of the 10 leagues have their own draft. The super league does not have a draft but I want it to sign (or trade for) the best players from all the other leagues. Id plan to have lower financials and lower reputation for the 10 leagues in the hope that the good players would seek a better team and sometimes the teams simply couldnt afford to sign the good players. The issue I can see would be the super league does not attract the best players and they stay in the other various leagues for whatever reason. Like maybe the players never seek contracts that the small leagues can't afford. Has anyone tried something similar and how well did it work? Or just some general advice for this type of league would be great?

It would be better to have the smaller leagues feed the super league's draft.

I considered that but I may have made some wrong assumptions in dismissing it. When the draft comes along will the players stay on their teams if they arent drafted or do the players become free agents? And will age have any impact on the drafting tendencies of the AI?

I've tried a version of this just messing around. I didn't use 10 lower leagues, but a few. It works well. You might want to lower the years to free agency

Yes lowering the years makes a lot of sense. How did you balance the financials between the leagues??
And after testing briefly I believe I was right about the draft releasing every player which would destroy all the other leagues.
