couple questions

A couple stupid questions for those veterans of this game.

1. I have scouting turned to 100% accurate, but my scouting director is just fair. With that being said, is scouting really 100% accurate still? I'm wondering if it would be better to just turn scouting off, as I know several people have suggested basing my decision off stats only. If I turn scouting off, would I still get scouting reports, for things such as drafts and free agents? Not sure how that works.

2. I'm using reserve rosters. If I have someone in the reserves that has a major league contract, I'm assuming that takes away from my available budget for free agents and such. But what about guys in my international complex? It looks as if most, if not all of them are on minor league contracts, so this shouldn't affect the budget should it?

3. Last question, I'm running a major league level league with a high school feeder league. If I fail to sign draft picks, what happens to those guys? All the ones I signed were 18, and my feeder league is set up with a max age of 18, so they can't go back to the feeder league. Do they just become free agents?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

For #3, I would assume that they would just become free agents.

1. I have scouting turned to 100% accurate, but my scouting director is just fair. With that being said, is scouting really 100% accurate still? ---With scouting at 100% you don't have to worry about scout's ability, nor scouting budgets... they will be perfectly scouted no matter what. as far as teh rest, that is all aobut personal preference... 100% scouting will make decisions very easy... the idea of 100% stats is that it's more difficult to make solid decisions. some feel that is more true to life... although, GM's do get scouting reports.. they do not base all the decisions on stats. (assuming the stats are worthy of use... sample size and confidence etc). if you find it way too easy with 100% scouting, i'd try lowering accuracy before moving directly to stats only.

2. I'm using reserve rosters. If I have someone in the reserves that has a major league contract, I'm assuming that takes away from my available budget for free agents and such. But what about guys in my international complex? It looks as if most, if not all of them are on minor league contracts, so this shouldn't affect the budget should it?

--- they will be itemized, if you will, under "Salaries" in "Front Office." yes, if they have a major league contract, it's affecting your budget. if it says MiL contract, it's not a major league contract etc but it still affects the budget. the guesstimates for arbitartion may or may not be accurate, so use common sense on those. int'l complex guys are not even minor leaguers, so they should not have contracts. they only receive random talent changes, so don't wait to long to move them into your system if they are rated well enough - which wil be easy to know with 100% accuracy.

3. Last question, I'm running a major league level league with a high school feeder league. If I fail to sign draft picks, what happens to those guys? All the ones I signed were 18, and my feeder league is set up with a max age of 18, so they can't go back to the feeder league. Do they just become free agents?

---i believe it follows the real-world rules... if a team does not sign the amatuer, they will be eligible for the next draft. not 100% sure what OotP does... you'll have to shortlist one and test it out to be sure. restore a backup as a temp league that you will delete after figuring it out. you may even get another 1st round pick when you fail to sign your previous year's #1, but i forget the exact rules... look'em up and compare to what the video game does. remembering the difference is likely easier than remembering it all...
