So, I just upgraded to 17. Loading up my trusty save game.
Anyone know the fastest place to go to see what all the new features are, so I can figure out what to turn on/off?

Out of the Park Baseball - A Baseball Management Game Available for PC, Mac and Linux from Out of the Park Developments
In terms of "features", I would say there really weren't a ton that came in that really can be "turned off". They were mostly either full modes (historical exhibition, historical minors), built into the game (improved AI, interface changes, speed, new GM personalities), or new ways to play (new 3d game engine). The only "features" that I would say anyone might consider turning off would be the auto-generated recaps, and the WPA graphs, although I gather that most people like having them on, at least for their team/league. |

Speaking of features that should be turned off... well, you all know my thoughts about league evolution by now.

Here's another one that I think is new. I don't know what it does, though.

There are these two, in Game Settings. Careful with that last one.

Heh. I still don't know what it does, though! "Use this value." "What value?" "This value! And if you have to ask, you shouldn't be touching it." ![]()

![]() It lets the ai look at historical players actual career values and use them when making its selections in the draft. With it checked, the ai will (if all goes well) see Mike Schmidt as Mike Schmidt!. Without it, it sees him as a guy who has some promise, but who hit .194 his rookie year. So for most players, you'd want to check this, but for those going for a total 'what if' fantasy type replay, you might want to leave it un-checked. That being said, I don't know how this interacts with the historical minors. Hopefully someone smarter than I am can can provide that info. Last edited by Lukas Berger; 05-04-2016 at 02:00 AM. |
