Cannot switch windows

Apologies if this has already been addressed; I searched the forums and did not see resolution.

I purchased OOTP16 on Steam and have enjoyed the game a great deal with the exception of one nagging issue. When I switch windows on my PC and try to go back to the game, I nearly always get locked out with just a white screen. I cannot even close does the game and have to use Task Manager to close the game down.

I've seen other people post this issue, but cannot find the resolution. Can somebody please help?

I've been putting up with the same issue for almost a year with OOTPB 16 until I found this fix from one of the posts in the forum.

(Unfortunately, I can't remember anymore where I found it.)

The fix is actually quite simple and you might like to try it.

Change game SETTINGS of the following 3D & Facegen settings to the ff.:

1. 3D features / OpenGL support - set to Enabled

2. OpenGL Mode - set to Use OpenGL only for 3D

3. OpenGL Shader Mode - set to Enable OpenGL shader (better 3D graphics)

Restart the game.

By the way, the same fix also works for OOTPB 17...
