Baseball in Europe?
I decided to use the CEB mod, and implement the rest of the standard professional leagues after updating the CEB mod to reflect what the league ratings would be like versus the rest of the world (IE in CEB, Honkball and IBL are 10, where as in the standard game they are a 6). I wanted to create a bit of a challenge for myself, and reviewed some of the leagues. I selected Baseball Bundesliga out of Germany to be my league. Upon further review, I saw that the league has 15 teams in two divisions, so I decided to place an 8th team into the North Division. Presenting...the Berlin Uber Squirrels!
Updates will come as I progress with my team's signings highlighted in green, league signings highlighted in red, league news highlighted in blue. I'll also post team injuries, postgame recaps (or possibly weekly recaps, with the standard postgame W/L/S/HR/MVP info). I'll also post awards, highlighted in orange. Preseason
Here's some of the league's pre-season MLB relevant signings:
Kevin Kouzmanoff, 3B, 2 years, $580k Chris W. Carter, 1B, 4 years, 1.24 million Jon Rauch, RP, 3 years, $430k Josh Vitters, LF, 3 years, $890k Mitchell Boggs, RP, 2 years, $230k Greg Smith, SP, 1 year, $210k My league's preseason predictions were: North Division Dortmund Wanderers- 114-48 Berlin Uber Squirrels- 97-65 Hamburg Stealers- 81-81 Solingen Alligatiors- 79-83 Cologne Cardinals- 78-84 Hannover Regents- 77-85 Bonn Capitals- 73-89 Paderborn Untouchables- 71-91 South Division Bad Homburg Hornets- 84-78 Haar Disciples- 84-78 Mainz Athletics- 83-79 Heidenheim Heidekopfe- 81-81 Regensburg Legionare- 78-84 Mannheim Tornados- 76-86 Tubingen Hawks-75-87 Stuttgart Reds- 69-93 Among the top 10 hitters, I had the top three with Vitters, Carter, and Kouzmanoff in that order. Greg Smith was my only pitcher ranked in the top 10, ranked #1. Should be a decent season to begin with. One decision I'm pondering, granted it would take a TON of time, is to make the CEB draft classes for 2016 an association draft versus a league draft, to try to bring some stability to the entire association versus keeping it in league. |

Season Preview
My season goals are as follows:
Achieve a winning record this season Upgrade at SS Acquire a Hometown Player Keep building your team up, in order to reach the playoffs in the next two seasons. Acquiring a hometown player was completed by the signing of RP Lettel Heger, a 27 year old RP. We begin our season off the Rhine with a 3 game set facing the Paderborn Untouchables on the road. |
