DH to te field, pitcher removed

I want to move my DH to the field while keeping everyone else at their positions. (My DH is the 2nd catcher, I often PH for the catcher with an outfielder, my CF can pitch - no Babe Ruth, but can eat the occasional inning.)
How do I do that without inserting the pitcher of the previous inning (no place in the batting order yet) into the lineup?

Im an NL guy so not versed in the DH. But I believe if you insert the DH into the field you lose the use of the DH in the rest of the game and the active pitcher gets inserted into the batting order. I believe that substitution needs to happen immediately not after the inning.

Not sure if this is what you're asking, but when I play fictional 20s and 30s leagues, I tried this a couple of times. I hate DH, but it would probably work out like this: DH would become catcher, DH spot would become pitchers spot, which you can replace with the CF, and bring in a CF replacement.

I don't want to bring anyone off the bench. My lineup is following: 9. PH 1. CF 2. DH 3-8 every other outfield position.

I want it to become 9.CF. 1.P, 2.C, , with keeping all 3 guys on the field. Or is the move of the DH to the field combined automatically with specifiacally one of the batters being removed, not the pitcher?

I think this is what you want
Step 1
9 Spot) PH Smith
8 spot) CF Jones
2 Spot) DH Marks
....end inning

Step 2
Smith listed as PH in C batting swaps with CF Jones in the field. Jones is now listed as C. Smith now listed as CF.
9)CF Smith
1)C Jones
2)DH Marks

Step 3
Insert DH Marks into game at C pitcher Weber should insert into the 2 spot taking Jones spot
9)CF Smith
1) P Weber
2) C Marks

By rule when the DH comes into the game as a fielder the active P is forced inserted into the batting order of the player who the DH replace. This is because once the DH becomes a fielder you then have 10 fielders because you lose the role of DH. So you need to decide which other player is coming out. Insert The DH into that spot into the field. Then move everyone back to the positions you want them to be in.

2 Spot) C Marks

PH Smith for Weber
9 Spot) PH Smith
8 spot) CF Jones
2 Spot) DH Marks
...end inning

Insert Jones in game as P
9 Spot) PH Smith
8 spot) P Jones
2 Spot) DH Marks

Insert Smith into CF

That was a good workaround, it helped me figure it out

For others: what you need to do is to assign every player in the lineup to a fielding position before removing the DH. Even if it is nonsensical, like having an outfielder as C. Then you remove the DH by putting him to "-". That is the only position that won't get the pitcher auto-inserted.
Then put the position player you want in the lineup to P first, before putting the rest of the of the batters into their proper spot.

Thanks all!

not sure if this rule is even in the game, if you got it to work... or you did it in a way they did not foresee.... and need to fix

the wikipedia page was poorly worded by some mouth-breather, lol...
