Starting pitchers in FA and the draft

How come when I start a new standard no one is listed as a starter? They are all designated as relief pitchers?

I was wondering this same thing. I started a new 2016 season, simulated the first year, then expanded the league and contracted two teams to keep 15 in each league.
When I got to the 2017 draft only 1 player was listed as a SP, while notable real life prospect SPs were listed as RPs. What's up with this OOTP?

I'm not sure as to why this happens either. But I have noticed that AI teams that draft some of these RP will change them to SP upon signing them.

It seems to me that earlier on before some update or hotfix, these pitchers were classified as SPs in the draft pool and during the draft. They certainly were in OOTP16

Check to see what league your player ratings are displayed relative to. If they're all relative to MLB, then the game only sees them as bullpen material at the moment since most draftees need a couple of years or more to develop in the minors.

That makes sense except it didn't used to do that. It used to be (and by used to I mean for sure all of OOTP16 and I believe early in the release of OOTP17) that prospects that were projected to be starters in the ML would get the position tag in the draft pool as SP. I'm wondering if one of the updates that was rolled out changed this?

I have seen this issue in the draft, not FA... any updates?
