Post deadline Waiver rules

So I thought that after the deadline you could put anyone on waivers and it would be recoverable. Well, I put a bunch of expensive vets on the waiver wire and only a couple of them were on recoverable and the others were on irrecoverable. WTF? I lost Vogt for nothing.

In layman terms. "Irrevocable" means you can't take them off waivers if they are claimed.
Or, to put it more bluntly....you're screwed

I know that. I'm wondering why only some of my players were on Irrevocable and others were on Revocable post trade deadline. I thought any player placed on waivers after the deadline was on revocable waivers.

Every player has options (3). Once they are exhausted they are irrevocable if I'm not mistaken.

That's my take anyways.
You may want to ask someone more profient than I am.

Huh. That makes a lot of sense. Cheers!

OOTP doesn't recreate that real-life waiver aspect directly, it does so indirectly. That is, if you try to make a trade after the trade deadline, the players involved effectively go on (trade) waivers. If any club puts in a claim on one of the players involved, the player is automatically pulled back and the trade cancelled.

You do not need to put players on waivers yourself.

Options, that is, seasons in which an player can be sent on an optional assignment, are a different matter. (In real life, there are waivers that can apply to players who still have options remaining, though OOTP does not recreate this. Also, this rule may have changed under the new CBA.)

in the game once someone is picked you can pull the player but must remain on active roster .... I have done that a time or 2 first time was by accident and was able to put player back on roster with no loss but the other I was curious what would happen if I did nothing and 2 days later the player was claimed after wavier claim. You can trade that player to said club too. So it can still act like revocable waivers
