Some combo of options screwing my roster

Hello,

Really need some help. I have another thread I started today where the problem was my Ast GM (who was delegated to hire/fire my ML team and all the minors) failed to do that and the coaches & manager positions were vacant across my org.

... and now, the two Rule 5 players I drafted ... and who of course need to be left on the active roster ... were released and sent back to their original team after checking the transaction log (and noting other moves I never made)

Under team control settings, I am set to handle all the options all the way down to the last five where I have the Ast GM or the minor league managers handling those.

I suspect my problem was:

1) Do Not Disturb
2) Prevent AI from making roster moves

I set "Do Not Disturb" so I would not have the sim stop when I got trade proposals (of which there are a ton). Now reading about what happens when "Do Not Disturb" is checked, I see where you basically lose all control of your game.

Re "Prevent AI making roster moves" ... I had this checked but I read somewhere that maybe checking this could cause other issues but I am reluctant to uncheck this. Even though it didn't help and the AI made moves that screwed me, I assume if I uncheck this it will be even worse.

Can I assume the "Do Not Disturb" "overrides" my team control setting of me being the only one that can make roster changes at the ML level since I did not delegate this to the Ast GM?

Until I hear from any of you on solutions, I will uncheck "Do Not Disturb" and then suffer through my simulation time stopping by getting messages I don't want to read anyway (I wish there was a switch to turn on/off trade proposals). I suspect the "Do Not Disturb" overrode my team control and made all these roster moves I didn't want.

Secondly, since I want to handle roster moves at the Major and AAA level, I will leave "Prevent AI from making roster moves" checked until I hear from you about reasons why this could screw things up (I did have a case where minor league rosters were running out of players and suspect having this checked caused that).

Do not disturb will essentially override everything else almost always. As mentioned there are certain things the AI will not do, but they are certainly permitted any roster moves needed.

If you have the prevent AI flag checked, that essentially changes everything to human control, since the AI will do nothing with the team (unless if the do not disturb above is checked). So basically delegating minor league functions to the AI and hitting the "prevent AI" button kind of cancel each other out in most cases.

If you don't want all the stoppages, you should be able to unsubscribe your news settings about trade proposals and anything else that you don't want to delay the sim. If you unsubscribe from the messages the sim should not stop for those cases.

Matt, can you offer explan on staff vacancies

Thx Matt for your response. I now have "Do not disturb" and also "Prevent AI from making roster changes" both unchecked.

As to why my Asst GM who was delegated to hiring both Major and Minor staff/Mngr/PC/HC failed to do that and most all my staff positions became vacant AND the Asst GM failed to hire replacements ...

... I suspect then that by having "prevent AI from making roster changes" was the reason??? By "roster", I think active roster and the other player rosters. The staff personnel are not part of "roster" but I have a feeling that no extensions were offered and all the vacancies remained unfilled had some thing to do with that have AI "prevent any roster changes" being checked was the culprit. Can this be so, even though staff personnel are not really part of the "roster"?

If not Matt, why would my AI Asst GM sit on his butt and let all the staff leave by not giving extensions and not hire replacements even though that is his job?

Personnel is part of the "roster" from that checkbox' point of view.
