More than anything else, this franchise needs new ownership ready to invest in a winner.

Hopefully this helps. They need to start winning a little to remain relevant. They can't have five more years of "The Redvolution." They are well supported when they are at least a playoff team.

They've changed everything to get back in the playoffs. Players, coaches, management. Karmanos has been the constant.

I don't know why but I thought the Hurricanes were in Charlotte.

I hope it works out, I think Nashville is evidence that hockey can work in 'non traditional' markets.

Even in spite of the crappy owner they have, I think they're going to be quite good this season. Francis has done a great job at building this team. The defensive core is great and the forwards are starting to come together. It'll be interesting to see if the addition of Scott Darling will pull everything together.

And yet the tradionalist in me would STILL rather see the Canes sold and moved back to Hartford.

Probably because Hartford got jobbed by both the owner and the NHL, but that's the early Bettman era for ya.

It wasn't the expected path, but a buyer has agreed to purchase the Hurricanes and keep them in Raleigh.
