Catch and release

Beginning my 2018 league/season. Just been watching transactions. I know there has been talk previously about some teams just signing guys and releasing them in the same exact moment. The kt wiz team in the Korean league seems to be doing just that. They have signed 3 ex major leaguers: Petrick, Harrell, and Collin Balester and released them all right after signing them. Doesn’t really bother me at this point but wondering if there is any remedy to this problem.

So I looked a little deeper. It seems to be several teams all in the Korean league who sign players and release them immediately. Anyone else seeing this?

I mean look at poor Mr. Rico. He was living comfortably in the US. Gets the call to come to Korea. Get there and gets released. Goes home. Gets another call. Gets released. Goes home again... But now looks like he is sticking in Doosan.

I know i am having a conversation by myself but I think i figured out the issue. Korean league has a limit of 3 gringos per team. Korean signs a gringo and then realizes hey no room for that dude and then releases him. But why sign him in first place?

I have been having the same problems. Tried to send my file to OOTP but am absolutely useless at new fangled computer things, almost ended up losing my saved game that I am using as a test setup. Often have players being signed and released the same day from the free agent list.

Weird right? Are you only seeing it in the Korean league as well? I’m assuming it has to do with the amount of non Koreans allowed in the league. But I believe the Japanese league has a quota as well but they are not doing the “catch and release”

No it is happening in my Historical Random Debut that just finished 1908. I have three unaffiliated AAA leagues. It is happening in both ML and AAA. There is a report in the bugs forum where Lucas ask me to send my league files. When attempting that computer voodoo I almost lost my league, after much vulgarity I retrieved my league. From there I decided that this is minor annoyance not worth losing my league and someone else could send their league file.

Being my stubborn self I kept trying and think finally sent in my league files to OOTP.
