How about an expansion draft in 2008

MLB is way overdue in expanding, based on history. Suppose I expand by 2 teams back in 2008. If I play as an historical league, the expansion teams would be dropped by the AI the following year because they didn't really exist historically, right?. Or should I just leave expansion unchecked during setup?

I'm thinking I would have to begin as a fictional league, dump all the fictional teams and players, and replace them with the actual 2008 historical teams. I would check for historical rookies to be added (I'm ok generating a few fictional players for the expansion teams in the off season). But I would like to avoid a draft each year and assign the rookies to their proper teams. Is this possible? (no minors, no finances)

If you uncheck the historical evolution box, then you're correct in saying the two extra teams would remain in place.
