I hate Bob Nutting
I can see why Pirates fans hate this guy now. Three straight playoff appearances including a World Series appearance, and this man wont up my budget significantly at all. I cant have a payroll over 120 million but he still expects me to win it all this year. Fiscal personality of "penny-pitcher" is an understatement. Sell the team already, Bob!!

How have you done with raising revenues? I'm dealing with a similar budget, but this year I have dramaticaly increased revenues and the accounting section is now showing higher (and climbing over time) estimated budgets for the next two years.

Son, with this disposition and demeanor you will never manage to build a winner, no matter the budget available to you. I suggest you look into whooping things on a small dime more systematically.
Also, it is 'Mr. Nutting'. Sincerely Bob Nutting

Mr. Nutting just wants to make sure you earn that moneyball achievement
![]() He has a balanced fiscal policy (between profit and winning), the best way to get a better budget with an owner like that is to do both in the same year: focus on selling out the ballpark and keeping fan interest high while playing over .500 ball and the dollars will come. Just give up on anyone who costs more than 15 million (really more than 10, except for a franchise anchor or a true young Ace). Kind of like the real Pirates. The bucs will never be a top-5 budget team but you can with careful management eventually convince AI Nutting to get you into the top 15. |

I want to type Bob Nutting into urban dictionary but at the same time I also really don't want to see the results...

Not for Nutting (I had to work that in here and it is applicable since he is a human being), but I recommend this treatment for all OOTPB team owners:
Neutering the Owner for His Own Good
