Is this a bug?
At first I was thinking it could be explained as an attempted bunt for a hit that turned into a sac bunt but his ratings don't exactly lend themselves to such an explanation.

Whether to consider it a bug or not, I don't know...but it sure seems to be something that should be tweaked. While I could see there being a handful of situations where a sac bunt makes sense even with a "never sac bunt" type of attitude...with that player in the 2nd inning definitely isn't one of them

check the individual player strategy.
if you have it set to override team strategy and sac bunt active for him (<0), than it would explain it i think

Those settings are still set to the default where all the sliders are in the middle and it is set to "adjust to team strategy settings".
