Semi-historical league in 1924 seeks new owner
![]() The Transcontinental Baseball Association started in 1870 to promote the new Transcontinental Railroad. Eight teams along the line competed in the first professional baseball season in history. The next year, the league expanded nationwide. It is now 1924. Babe Ruth is setting the league on fire and his mighty Milwaukee Golden Spikes just won their third consecutive championship. Ruth is one of many historical players in the league, alongside many more fictional players. In its early days, the league was heavily fictional, but over the years as more historical players have become available, and especially with the new OOTP minor league database, our recent draft classes have been predominantly historical, and we're in the process of phasing out fictional draftees entirely. Scouting is enabled and there is a large network of independent and international leagues from which lesser talented fictional players can be purchased. We sim three days a week, two weeks at a time. Injuries are set to low. Players reach free agency after 8 years as a compromise between the reserve clause and modern rules. The San Francisco Aces have been run by the same owner for decades, but he recently needed to step down. They are in good shape, finishing third out of 10 western teams behind the Rookie of the Year, Al Jones. They have the fifth-highest winning percentage in league history and have the fourth-most playoff appearances. They're in good financial shape and have the league's 7th-ranked minor league system. We just converted and free agency is about to start. You'd have a great chance to build your roster for next season to compete with Milwaukee and longtime greats Kansas and Seattle. You'd be part of a tight-knit group of owners that have been posting and playing in leagues together for a decade or more. You're also welcome to rename the team, as long as they stay in San Francisco. Please PM me if you are interested.
