A modest proposal

In order to help prevent people from thinking that tanking is going on, how about a sticky thread where we can announce our intention to go to a theme team.

I'm transitioning one of my teams into a strict historical team and wish to avoid even the appearance of impropriety.

Dropped a twenty back in April. Nothing since with this squad. Have put all my steroid era & after players on the AH. My Kinross Flyers are currently in D365. Tired of the rat race, and want to go back to enjoying it instead of the AH grind.

OOTP pre-cogs? We need to dip some OOTP players with powers of clairvoyance into a pool of liquid so they can help us see the future. And have our OOTP pre-tanking team work to stop it. This gives me an idea for a movie script...starring Tom Cruise as Markus Heinsohn.

I'm too busy trying to solve my team chronically losing in game 5 in the divisional playoff round to notice other people's stink.

Little did I know that when I sold off 5 of my top 8 players to do this that I would be 10-12...in Diamond Level.

I too am bowing out of the Perfect League on my primary team. I cannot even begin to compete (1st place team is 42-8) and have really lost interest. I have however acquired a decent assortment of gold and silvers largely due to collection missions. So I'm using the rest of this season to train up some non-live silver cards and will use them next season (unless they are needed for tournaments). My team is the Hawaii Volcanoes, and with the top team running almost all historical perfects, my silvers dropping games shouldn't impact the division. I'll probably be in Perfect another season anyway since I'm switching mid-season.

Well, I never...ever...expected to be 20-25 and in 4th place. I figured it's be a quick slaughter. I've been fortunate with my old timer pick-ups...and solid D makes bad teams mediocre, mediocre teams good, and good teams great.

Gotta say...purging myself of the current guys I didn't have the attachment to has been a godsend. I'm losing, but enjoying the season more as the players on my squad are guys I've been familiar with since I was a boy. It's restored me.

I haven't sold any of my "good" players yet, with collections possibly coming down the road I think I'll just hold them. I'm going to just do an all silver team for now, but I might go for the All Star set, or a team born my birth year, or all guys with the same first name. Something quirky like that.
