Ticket Prices
In my current dynasty, set in 1978(I wanted to start with the 1977 expansion for my hometown Seattle Mariners), I have an owner with an expectation of 30200 fans per game in attendance. His current mood is "worried", even though I have a record of 38-34 in my second season good for 3rd place 4 games out of first. I have a budget of around $8.5M/yr and a payroll of around $3.6M/yr. Seems to me, with average attendance of around 28K currently, the best thing to do is to lower ticket prices in order to increase attendance, since I have money to burn, and hopefully this will get the owner off my back a little bit. Am I missing anything?

Yup. You can't change ticket prices during the season. Only in the offseason.

I believe you can go into commissioner mode and change ticket prices at any time. It won't retroactively affect prices.
If not, you have many options: 1) Click the box so the owner can't fire you 2) Make a trade for a popular player to improve attendance 3) Edit the owner so he worries less 4) Don't worry too much. Winning covers lots of issues. 5) Also, attendance (for me anyway) always is below average in the first couple months. When the weather warms up, basketball season is over, and fans see teams in a race, attendance increases without changing prices. I have no idea if attendance is more important to owners than making money or winning, but my guess is that it's less important. Last edited by Drstrangelove; 07-06-2019 at 04:19 PM. |
