All that success, and Blackmon still can't afford a trip to the barber…

A few years ago when Josh Reddick was on the A's their own broadcasters stated that his beard was out of control, and probably had birds living in there.

But Blackmon's is worse.

I don't like these POTM cards. Guy has one good month he's better than Babe Ruth.

Just my 2 cents.

Maybe give their live cards a boost and the special artwork for 30 days.

Great idea. I was born in 68 and was propped up to watch the Tigers play the Cards in the WS that year. Would love the year/month based POTM cards. I wouldn't mind a Denny McClain or Bob Gibson card that reflects how they performed in Aug or Sept of that year for example...

Babe Ruth has been dead for 71 years, so he probably is better than Babe Ruth right now.

We already have peak historical cards, what's the difference?

I like the current player of the month cards... at least it gives us the opportunity for a little more variety in the players available at the high skill levels so we don't all just have teams of Ruth/Cobb/etc. playing each other.

In essence you have LEASED a good lighting in a bottle player for 30 days...

That's another idea: change their 'live' card to the POTM stats and artwork for 1 month (allow for further increases during the month, but no decreases) then go back to normal after the month is over. Possibly, include POTM stats as permanent 20% of future 'live' card calculations, with POTM emeritus artwork. That way a card could earn POTM more than 1 month and would be a nice reward for those who invest in 'live' cards.

I have read a lot of nonsense around here, but that one surely tops it.

If you want to have the live card of Player X, go buy the live card of Player X. They are cheaper anyway. Anything that's not a live card is, ironically, livening up the game considerably.

"Self-destructing" cards. What's next? The saga of combining ten silvers into a gold, ten gold into a diamond card again?
