Contract Negociation bug

I tried to sign Brady Tkachuk to a 7 year deal... refused, I saw after this that the kid is not loyal

so i decided to meet his demands and apply offer, but he still refusing, the message clearly talking about the 7 year deal, but the 2nd offer was his, a 2 year contract

Can you fix this bug if i send you the save file?

(steam version, up-to-date)

That sounds like it may be the qualifying offer system that allows offers to be made after the player breaks off negotiations, but if you upload the save I can check to make sure.

I think I found the problem : on the action menu of the player page, I had the option of renewing the contract, but from the home page on the offers panel, i got also the option to cancel my offer, that's what I did. He doesn't want to negociate now, i'll retry later when I could and see that if it changes something.

Ok, he tells me that he is open to renegociate and I see my original 7-years deal proposal is reactivated without asking anything, and so he refuses

seems that there is a loophole somewhere

save uploaded on your FTP called "Sens19"

Yeah, this is what I thought it was. Tkachuk is now in the mode that allows offers to be entered to ensure he has a qualifying offer to prevent him from becoming an unrestricted free agent, but he won't actually accept any of them. (You can tell it's entered this mode because you can no longer ask him for a response, only submit an offer.) The refusal email will always refer back to the offer that existed when he originally broke off negotiations, not the newest one you made. The only thing making another offer at this point will do is get the offer checked to see if it's a valid qualifying offer, and if so preserve his restricted free agent status on July 1. He won't actually give you a real response to a new offer until "Ask for Response" becomes available for selection again on the Action menu.

I simmed day-by-day to see what happens, but despite his refusal the initial offer remains active, and "ask for response" remains grey so his contract runs out on July 1st...and despite being a RFA I have not the budget to sign him again (thank you my dear owner!)

so it is a bug, or WAD ?

nevermind, i'll restart this save cause I realized in the meantime I did many mistakes on roster management , now that i have a slightly better handle of the game and notably the financial part, the experience will be better : great game!

thanks for your input
