Error message flashes up when I try to edit screen resolution

Im trying to change the screen resolution on my laptop, the screen on it does 2560 x 1440.

When I change the resolution in the game settings it flashes with an error that reads

"Your screen does not meet the minimum requirements of 1280 x 768. The game will not work. If possible choose a higher resolution or check if you can reduce your zoom level. Then try again"

Now thats clearly an error on the games part. Anyone any idea on how to fix this problem?

That sounds like the zoom level of your Windows desktop is set to a level that's reducing the usable screen size to a very low resolution. Right-click on the desktop, select Display Settings, and then under Scale & Layour see if the option to "Change the size of text, apps, and other items" is something other than 100%. If it is, switch to 100% and try running the game again.
