MiLB deals w MLB guarantee executing without promotion

Hi guys, has anyone else experienced this?

We are a new online league of 26 teams finishing our first preseason. The gamelog is dated April 1, 2020, our opening day.

A bunch of us have signed players to MILB contracts with x amount paid if promoted to MLB within 30 days, and otherwise released.

It appears, whether promoted or not, all these contracted have exercised.

For example, I signed Miguel Cabrera to one of these MILB30 deals. I used him on my ST roster. I waited until rosters expanded to set him into the squad. Today, he is unoptionable because "Miguel Cabrera has an MLB contract and must be placed on the 40-man roster."

I also signed Rex Brothers to an MILB30. He was sent straight to AAA, (I have AI managing milb promtion and demotion on my team) and yet his player profile already reads MLB Contract.

Both players appear on my salaries balance sheet as liabilities respective to the offer value.

Other players in the league are experiencing the exact same issue, including with players that were never invited to the spring training roster.

These contract executions do not show up in any of our transaction logs, either. I don't know if they would, I would expect it to say the contract has been purchased or something along those lines.

We are new to the online format, and some of us new to OOTP at all, so please be gentle Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have also experienced this recently in an online league with players who were never invited to spring training (e.g. late signing as a reaction to spring injury) suddenly being converted to MLB contracts. Something also seems odd about spring training rosters because, particularly in single player, I am constantly burning options I worked hard to protect to reassign players from camp.

An option is burned if you send a 40-man player to the minors, even in spring training.

I run the league that OP posted about and we are definitely having an issue where all players who were signed to MILB contracts with an option for a guaranteed MLB contract are having their option exercised by the game automatically, even if the player isn't on the team's 40 man roster. The options are triggering whenever the day changes.

This doesn't seem like expected behavior and any insight would be really helpful as to why these options are being picked up when our human GM/managers are not exercising them by placing the players on the 40-man.

Looks like the issue is pretty widespread.

Thanks, yes, it looks like contracts were getting converted prematurely. This will be fixed for the next patch.
