International players

Playing with default settings the percent of players from Dominican Republic and Venezuela increases dramatically. The DR goes from 10% to 16% in 10 years. Not sure if this is intentional based on trend or if the scouting discoveries are causing this. I could reduce the international discoveries but it could impact rosters in the DSL with the default rules requiring no foreigners.

In league settings you can adjust % mix of nationalities for international discoveries.

It isn’t the mix from the DR per se, there are more Venezuelans too. It is the percent of Americans that is too low.

I thought that that high percent of DR players was symptomatic of a bigger problem but didn't explain it well in my original post.

I ran another test to Opening Day 2031 and American's make up only 61% of players when going to sortable stats. That is out of 1,021 players. Maybe the game is trying to forecast the future and with decreased American participation maybe that is right. My question for the Devs is this something you intended to happen?

Sounds about right. Remember int they are buying whichever players they want and avoiding the draft. And now with the hard cap it's cheap.

I would expect those int numbers to climb in real life as well.

There is talk of a int draft in mlb. That might be the only thing slowing them down. Right now they are signing into players at 15/16.
