Anyone else suffer from Sim Envy?

I've tried and tried to discover a method of play that allows me to enjoy simming all my leagues games, but I just can't find one. Instead, I watch one game each day and all the post season games. Thing is, that means I'm simming up to 9 games a day, but watching that one game makes such a difference in my mixed up, muddled up, shook up world.......Lola

I watch one game a week. I sim the other days in Real-Time Simulation at 300 speed, and I usually keep a sharp eye on it to catch any kind of cool events that might happen. I make sure to check the standings at the end of each day.

I do RTS for the playoff games until the World Series. I watch every World Series game.

All of that keeps me immersed enough to where I feel like I know what's going on in my league.

When you do real time sim, can you jump into individual games if you see something cool going on?

You sure can - I use RTS occasionally, and that's one of the best things about it. The ability to join any game on the fly.

I play in spectator mode, and just follow my league.

I usually watch 2 games a day, one AL, one NL, for the most part. It's a 36 team expanded MLB with all fictional players. I get to know who's who in the zoo pretty quickly this way. I pick teams at random to watch, maybe a team on a hot streak, or one where a player has a chance for a record or career achievement.

I watch every play off game, all star game and usually in Sept I watch more games. Pennant races are fun, and division rivalry games are always fun to watch.

This is one of the best features in-game.

You and I play pretty much the same way. I may need to try the two games a day method. I may give RTS a shot as well.

You can also quick-sim your game, hide the scores, and watch the highlights. While you get all the nice graphics, it is more time-consuming than RTS. I like RTS because it kind of simulates what I did as a kid when I just checked in on the score on the radio every half hour between TV shows, etc (before smartphones).

I'm a huge fan of RTS because I can charge ahead at a decent pace, and yet I can still find out what's going on around the league.

I sim most of my games. Except if its a milestone game, 1st time in the show or some kind of big trade debut. Home opener, home finale, Arizona fall league championship, mlb playoffs.

I play full universe so all the foreign and indy leagues. And I spend a lot of time managing my organization, players, personnel and scouting. I constantly update all of my shortlists and look for talent in as many places as possible. I look not just for prospects but to upgrade all my minor league levels. I know the 20 players that have spent 3 years in my DSL aren't likely to develop or TCR anytime soon. And if I can replace them with another 20 players 3 years younger then I'm going to spend time doing it even if none of them make it to Class A ball.

But just do whatever is the most fun and entertaining to you. I am entertained with running the entire organization, players, personnel the actual game day stuff I am ok not concerning myself with. I do setup lineups but that's about it.

Alright guys, I think I might be able to make this real time sim thing work. It's cool how you can watch the scores, but still check the news, standings, team pages etc.

Thinking I might real time sim till the start of September and then jump back in and watch the races play out over the last month.

My question is this, does the real time sim only work during the season when there are games, or can you let it run during the off season as well?
