Game suddenly crashing randomly and repeatedly

The game has just shut down with no warning three times in the last half-hour. Literally, I do not even know that it has crashed until I try to switch back to the application -- it has just disappeared from my taskbar. The third time was after installing the 21.5.71 patch, so that did not fix it. It seems to be happening when the game is in the background (e.g., when I switch over to check my e-mail), and it has happened twice when I was editing a player and once when I was sitting on the league Free Agent screen. This happened to me once a few days ago, and originally I thought I had accidentally closed it myself, and now this. Help!
