Releasing Players with Term on Contracts

In my league the Yankees had a player Robbie Ray making $13.2M for this year + 3 years. The Yankees released him and after they did they gained $13.2M off the payroll for the current season and the next 3 years. I see that their operating expense went up $13.2M in current year, but where did the remaining 3 years of $13.2M go? Do they automatically show up in future years in the other expenses line item?

Thanks...just want to make sure finances are working right.

I think it should show up on the "team salaries" screen, just as if he had stayed on the roster with an asterisk or something.

It does not...it actually decreases the salaries by $13.2M in the current year the following 3 years.

It should get taken out of their cash.

It did not affect their available cash...just increased their expense in current year by $13.2M (they only had 94k in available cash before and after)

It should be applied/shown as a Misc Expense, not a salary, for the remaining years of the contract.
