Fictional team in historical simulation?

Hi. I wonder if there is any way to play as a fictional team from 1871 season in historical simulation and still get all historical players, and expansion teams and names changes, etc?

What i tried, and didnt work, was: Begin historical sim, almost without touching any pre-set option. Then, since it was not possible to make an expansion (automatic expansion is able, so i could get all historical teams in historical order), i "sacrificed"Rockford team and changed their name to my fictional team name ("Magdalenos"), city, deleted historical team ID and deleted historical franchise ID.

After finishing 1871 season, my team "Magdalenos" disappeared from league and all players went to free agency.

So you can see, my intention is to make "Magdalenos" (my fictional team) go from 1871 to 2020 and beyond. How can it be possible and compatible with a regular historical simulations with historical players and teams?

Also another question, i disabled the expasion draft option, how are new teams going to get filled?

if you have automatic expansion enabled, the game will resort to "it's real history" when the edit year data you entered is over. This is true of teams as well as edited player data.
The Only way it know for this to work is to manually expand the league whenever. Also by changing the team ID number and franchise number, the game will recreate those once the season you entered them is over, or at least before the next season begins.
whenever i have changed team names and location, i've left the ID number untouched. That also brings the history of the original team forward with the moves in name and cities. but i also always turn off auto expansion. it's fairly easy to do that by oneself whenever you feel like it.
i do not know of a way (but there may be one) to make the system you are describing work - regular historical game will recreate itself each year to remain historical. Sorry couldn't be of more help.
