Non-Comissioner Mode Way to Fill Out Playoff Roster?

I had three major injuries in September (when eligibility for post-season roster is 31 August). I went into commissioner mode and added players, but I wonder how this would get handled "legally."

The story has a happy ending, as a rookie SS with only 18 September at-bats hit .423 with fours and 15 RBI in ten playoff games and was World Series MVP.

My understanding is that a team can replace an injured player with any player in the team's organization, including a player not on the team's 40-man roster.

So I'm pretty sure that the rooking SS you placed on your team would've been eligible under actual rules.
