Yet another playoff roster/eligbility problem

Right now I'm between the LCS and the World Series. I have a pitcher who went on the DL late in the regular season. He was on the 40-man prior to September 1 (in fact he was on the active 26-man roster). He's now eligible to come off the DL but it won't let me add him to the active roster (and yes I took a guy off to make room for him).

This is despite the fact that in the editor the box "Eligible for Playoff Roster" is checked. What do I have to do here to get him on the playoff roster since he's clearly eligible?

Is he on the 40-man roster?

Are you trying to add him to the active roster or the playoff roster?

Both. He has an ampersand next to his name indicating he's playoff eligible, and I took a player off the playoff roster to make room.

The player in question is Christian Little. Here's what I get when I try to add him to my playoff roster with a spot open:

I'm in commissioner mode, so I'd like to think there's a way to brute-force him onto the roster, but I can't seem to find it.

Hmm, hard to say. I'm wondering if the game thinks you're still in the LCS and won't let you add him until the day of game one of the World Series? That's just a wild guess.

Yeah I thought that too, and now today is Game 1 and it still won't work.

If you were in the middle of the series, you would get a different error.

This error tends to happen when you try to move him directly from the IL to the roster. You need space on both the active roster and the 40-man (if he was on the 60-day), as well as the playoff roster, since I believe by default it needs to add him to all those spots.

That was the issue! I didn't have room on the 28-man active roster from September, which frankly I forgot about since I was in the playoffs. I demoted one of the guys I left off to AAA and that did the trick.
