Importing player for amateur draft

Is there a time when I have to do this for a historical player to be involved in the next amateur draft? I'm importing guys and they show up as free agents but they aren't available for the draft even though they are of draft age and their league rights are "none" not "free."

Any help would be appreciated.

During the season prior to the draft year, i.e. June 30 or earlier for a July draft.

In a custom league, the final playoff game was played May 19. The draft is held June 25th. I went to import the guys into the draft class in June before the draft and they didn't show up. So it seems I either need to import them at a different time or change the date of the draft (is that even possible?)

Is this an FHM7 game or 6? The draft should always be in July in 7.

Assuming it's 6, they're probably a year too early for that first draft, they'll appear in the second one.

I would like to add that I attempted to add a player for the NHL entry draft, June 30th, he was 17 turning 18 in late july (28th) and was not available for the draft July 7th. Custom game.

I also did another run of bumping the players age up to 18 and still wasn't appearing as draft eligible. So I'm assuming once you create/import a player that you have to wait an entire season?

Im playing FHM 7 with the open beta as of now.

Im playing FHM 7 with the open beta as of now.

Can you upload that save (instructions here) and let me know which players are the ones you added? That may give me some idea of what's going wrong. And is that the same one where you're getting crashing during the draft with imported historical players? If not, I'd like to see that one, too.
