Wishlist for 22: Morale Rework, Press & Front Office Expansion

The first is a complete rework of the morale system. I've read that a lot of people turn it off but it feels like your then missing a huge part of the dynamics of running a team.

Ideally I would love a lot more information on why I'm getting negative points from players, mainly in transactions as sometimes it really feels like it makes no sense at all. The easiest way to fix it I think would to be able to hover over it and a tooltip that shows the negative factors.

I think having a way to boost player morale would be awesome too, perhaps promising them player specific giveaway days and other things might be great.

Second biggest wish would be a complete overhaul of the front office, mainly dealing with staff. It still feels like a complete crapshoot when choosing coaches, but more than that the entire front office feels like you pick the same few names every franchise game since there are a few specific picks that are just ideal.

Coaches and staff that improve and degrade would be awesome, being able to have a former player start as a minor league coach and get better and better and eventually have them join as a manager would be the dream.

Perhaps a system where being different coaches (Hitting, Pitching, 3rd Base, 1st Base) would potentially increase those specific skills. I know I personally did my own story where I brought Jose Bautista back as a hitting coach, and then later he became the Manager of my AAA team, and eventually bench coach.

Expanding on front office a bit, more coaches would be great (1B, 3B) and I would definitely love an expansion on a press system. Interviews with the press and dealing with a bit more of the PR side of running a franchise.

A bonus item I would love would be the ability to build a new stadium, either with personal funding from the owner or petitioning for public funding. I usually do it myself by subtracting a portion of my cash reserves until I had enough to build a new stadium but would love for a system to be built in.

Anyway, those are a few ideas I had and would love to see in 22 or 23!

I feel like the manager/staff system in the game is one of it's weakest areas. I really feel like a manager/staff development system is extremely lacking area of the game. And having more info on said staff is also lacking.

I turn off the morale stuff. It's so random and haphazard. If my team is unhappy, IRL I can find out why and who. I can't be bothered in a game.

Also, I don't want to deal with the price of hotdogs and such.

Manager and coaches general need to be put in the searchlight.
Even more so in playing historical saves.
Today you get the managers that lead the teams in the year you start, then everyone else is fictional.
Since they pick up managers from the databse to add them to these teams, why not pick the rest of manager/coaches that was on teams in the years around.
That would be a nice base of coaches to start the save, then players will turn into coaches over the years forward.

It's the critical first year that mess up the relaism of using coaches in long saves.

please address expansion accuracy!

Two changes, please!!!!
1. run the expansion draft and protect lists like real life expansion for the last 30 years. Each team protects x players, then they lose 1 player each, then they can protect a few more.

2. Improve the AI logic by which they elect to protect or not protect players. I always have to go thru, team by team, and protect #3 starters, starting shortstops, etc, because the AI has prioritized their 4th relief pitcher.

3. Improve the AI logic by which it drafts. I see AI teams draft lots of older players with lots of salary, you just haven't seen this in real life.

For 2 and 3....maybe just give me sliders asking me what the AI should prioritize when protecting players, or when drafting players?

Good suggestions! I always play this game starting with an expansion team, and because it doesn't mirror real life, which may be a coding nightmare for the OOTP team, I allow teams to protect anywhere from 27-29 players, and always with four years of service or less, not three. I've done three in the past, and there is so much good, young talent, that goes unprotected, it's not fair really. Plus, it makes the challenge of practicing patience that much more as you build your team through the seasons.

The way coaches/managers/scouts were handled prior to v... 14 (I believe this was the one it was changed) was so much infinitely better than the current system.
