Saved game seems to have corrupted

The slow advancement issue seems to have been solved after a computer tuneup.
However, a much bigger and possible fatal issue arose last night.
I was trying to run a backup, and it stopped early in the process, with a message I unfortunately forgot to write down.
I decided to advance a few more days -- I am in the middle of the offseason -- just to see how it reacted when after siming a few days it just shut down.
I restarted the game, and when I went to load the season it was still there under continue last game but it could not be clicked.
