Rosters not taking

So I got lucky and pulled a 100 Yadier Molina today, eagerly inserted him into my roster and lineups, and submitted the team. Wait to see how he does (because he is an obvious replacement over the two catchers previously on the roster). The game sims, and...nothing. He's not even considered to be activated. Rinse and repeat two more times.

What do I have to do to have my player actually in my squad at this point? I know that this isn't an issue of the AI (in a logic-defying move) deciding that he really shouldn't be on my roster--I have everything set to be taken care of by myself. Getting to the point where I'm considering just selling him off if I can't even get him into the stadium.

Help?
