Max ratings, not max OVR

Has anyone discovered why some players' ratings appear maxed out to their potentials, but their OVR is still well behind their POT OVR? Would you expect a player to continue developing better splits? Room for improved defense? This player below is rated 40/55, but seems fully developed. 100% scouting accuracy.

I assume the answer will lie somewhere in scouting accuracy? That said, if the scout thinks he's maxed his skills then the scout should also think he's hit his peak

got ai eval set to include stats?

in this case i'd guess because his RF exp isn't maxed. Looks like he should be >7 in RF with his range, error and arm.

If I recall correctly, I think the actual ratings are out of 250. Could it be that some of the player’s attributes are high enough to where it shows that they are maxed out, but they actually have more room to improve within that rating?

That was one of my theories, but I don't expect much room for improvement based on his range.

I really hope that's the case

This league has ratings > 10, but usually capped at 12

This calculator shows he should get to a 9 at RF.

Thanks. I agree he will increase his OF rating, but I can’t imagine it would bump his OVR from 40 to 55 in a COF spot.

I'd imagine it's because your OVR ratings are on a 20-80 scale, and your other ratings are 1-10 scale.

The 20-80 scale has 12 subdivisions, whilst the 1-10 scale only has 10. So he could be, for example, 10/10 in some stats that might only be 75/80 on the other scale? Those added up, plus the slight ability to improve in RF, might explain it?

That could be it. Thanks.

The AI in my save just ignores stats altogether. A guy can have a 1,000 OPS for 3 years and be a passable fielder, but if he's 2.5 stars he's worthless in trades and doesn't get paid in free agency. It's quite annoying.

Do you have a recommendation for tweaking any relevant settings?

If you go into the editor there is a button to base ratings on stats and vice versa.
