Draft Prospects
Hi, just wondering if anyone else is seeing almost all of the batters in the draft are listed as SS. Is that normal?

in real life many players are listed as SS, but will never play a day there in the minor leagues. Just as many pitchers are listed as SP, but only have 2 pitches.
Talent is more diluted at amateur levels, so you get your best fielders playing CF/SS etc.. As brotherblues said, maybe something is hidden. Either way you can create filters for defensive positions or just translate it when you see it, because you'll be looking for the more difficult ML bats than defensive ratings, first, i'd assume. Can't force what the draft has on top of it being a total crapshoot of inaccurate scouting, as it should be. Lots of draftees can field at a ML level. ML potential bats are more rare. |
