AI on elimination games and Big Idea
How can we change AI decisions in playoff games? Does having a starter in relief hurt a team since his endurance is higher and he won't get the hook when ineffective??
In 2016 Dave Roberts did an impressive strategy against Dusty Baker in the NLDS game 5, Dave Roberts was managing like there was no tomorrow and Dusty was planning ahead, Dave Roberts won that game, So in a winner take all, how does the AI manage a team? Like Dave Roberts or Dusty? I got lucky in a LDS game 5 because the AI would not remove Perry since he wasn't tired. There needs to be a better strategy setting on playoff games. In RL, even Dusty would have taken out Gaylord Perry for giving up 4 walks and 4 hits including a 3 run homer to Charlestown. The AI even kept Perry in after blowing a huge lead! Does the Big Idea AI treat the one game winner take all as if it is a one game winner take all???

I have starters all over my bullpen, but I use the sliders and settings to limit the number of pitches they can throw in relief & how quick the hook comes.
Adam Wainwright, for example, had a 40+ save season for me recently. He does seem to take longer to recover than stock relievers like Kimbrel, for example. I think I understand your point about the playoffs, but I can't recall a game where I would have done anything different in a deciding game other than wheel in a different starting ace. This seems especially true given that you can't use the reserve roster during the playoffs. I have not had a Chris Sale vs. Manny Machado moment in OOTPB yet. Interesting question though.
