The Official 2021 MLB Postseason Thread

I`ll be rooting for the Giants, since my favorite teams, the Mets and the O`s, are not in the postseason

But, I think the Dodgers will win the Fall Classics...

What are you`re fav teams, and what are the postseason predictions?

Rooting for the Rays,.since I am a Mariners fan and prefer moneyball over big markets. Also like the Giants and brewers.

Wild Card games:
I predict Yankees or Sox and Dodgers over Cards.

I hope the Dodgers get beaten by the Cardinals and then the entire offseason for the mouthbreathers with columns on important websites will be about how the second wild card is stupid and must be gone.

At least until the CBA runs out and spring training is delayed for it.

Hoping the Cards get it, but after not even looking like a playoff team until the last month, I’ll just be happy if they beat the Dodgers.

If they don’t win it, I hope it’s Tampa. As much as I hate the “opener” thing, I prefer to see smaller market clubs win.

I am going to call four stolen bases in the WC game for the Cards against the terrible catching of the Dodgers.

Dodgers allowed 109 SB's this year, by far the most in the NL, and second in MLB. The Cards allowed 41 SB's.

Defense, and team speed never take the day off. The Cards are easily the best defensive team in MLB as well.

I don't think any team wants to play the Cardinals right now. They're getting back Flaherty, and Dakota Hudson. Flaherty is rounding back into form, and is fresh, and is one of top half-dozen pitchers in the league when he is right.

Edit to add...4th best WHIP among ALL current MLB starters, with two of the three above him hurt (Kershaw and DeGrom).

Go Giants. Cant wait to see them take on the hot Cardinals in the NLDS.

As long as Kolten Wong doesn't get picked off first to lose the game...

There would be a better chance for that to happen if Wong actually played for the Cardinals.

Tommy Edman is better than Wong, and saved them 11 million this year.

The flip-side o' that is that they are hitting the ball hard off of Wainwright: 5 of 7 batters have mashed it. 1 for a hit, 2 right at 'em, 1 good defensive play, 1 just under it. Of course this wouldn't be the first time I've seen a good pitcher start off really lucky, then find his groove.

Scherzer, OTOH, looks more like he has in last three starts - less than stellar - than he looked before that in his first several Dodger starts... (And at this rate he's going to be at 70 pitches before he gets nine outs...)

First bad call of the game. Carlson smashed one down the line, clearly foul. Ump was completely blocked, and called it wrong.

And the trend continues. Wainwright not sharp, but very lucky.

Alot will depend upon this next inning. He looked a little better in the 3rd. If he has found his groove and breezes through the 4th, he could go six or seven. We'll know soon...

LA has the 4-5-6 spots up in the bottom of the 4th. So the likelihood now is that he is pinch-hit for in the bottom of the 5th.

Yep, but not really cause of pitch count Still, ballsy move by Roberts to take him out in that spot.

Kelly sure earned his money right there in that spot.
