How generate interleague sked?

Fictional league...2 leagues (VL1, PL2) with 2 divisions each. Even though I have interleague play enabled in Schedule Settings, the schedules being generated are not interleague. VL1 playing only VL1 teams, PL2 playing only PL2 teams. How do I get a true interleague sked so VL1 is playing PL2 a certain number of games?

There are only 2 ways you can get interleague into the schedule as far as I know.

1 - You go to the mods part of the forum and find a schedule that fits your league structure that includes interleague or you set it up yourself manually.

2 - You mimic the structure of MLB (there is an option to click for that, sadly it's been a couple years so I don't remember 100% where it's at) and select interleague play.

Nothing else will work. I tried for years. You end up getting empty holes in the schedule where the interleague games would have been, and then teams don't all play the right amount of games.
