Question about the Player Development Budgets

I just started a new historical league save beginning in 1923 with the Yankees. I'm not able to set the Player Development budget over $6,400 and I'm not sure why. I've seen other people on this forum talking about "maxing out" the PD budget -- how do you do this? I don't necessarily want to max it out, I just want to allocate a little more of my funding to PD. I'm playing with the Yankees so I wouldn't think the budget would be all that small.

I've attached a screenshot of the PD tab as well as a screenshot of the Accounting tab in case I'm not understanding something about that, which is entirely possible.

I have run into this issue also with the player development budget and scouting budget. One time my scouting budget was 90k and I upped it to 130k hit enter and the budget became something like 60k. I couldn't even get it back to 90k.

I don't know what causes the issue but it certainly is aggravating.

Think I might have figured it out. It's a budget issue. I think if you don't have enough money in your budget it gets kicked down to what you can afford. However, I thought in Commissioner mode you could go over your budget but apparently not.

I see you're on Jan 28 and only have a starting balance of $5.1k. Perhaps after season ticket sales come in you will have the funds to increase your PD?

Sorry off the top of my head I can't recall when season ticket sales come in? Perhaps Feb. 1 when preseason starts?

Just my best guess but, hopefully that works
