Names in existing game Question

Does an existing league, imported over several versions of OOTP, always use the most recent default names database file?
Or does it only use the names from when it was first created?

Example:
Say a league was created in default OOTP v18.
If it matters, this would be an online league.

That league is now in v22, soon to be v23 of course.
Will the established league always draw on the latest default names in the game when creating new players?

you can import new name file from different thread

https://forums.ootpdevelopments.com/...lay.php?f=3641

one catch is the current names on players are to still be used but later on you may or may not see new names entering game. For me i think i did it wrong but the updated names seem to work better when you restart game from the current version. As back years ago i wanted certain names entering game but i actially think i did it wrong. Possible i did it right i just didnt see. Nobodies fault but my own.

Good luck and perhaps there are better ways to handle this today. Never asked recently as in OOTP23 i am starting my 4th solo so all this is moot to me now

Pretty sure it keeps original names file.

You would have to go into league setup, Database tab. From the dropdown "Database Tools" select 'reimport name and ethnicity database".

Your league would then use the names db that came with that version of the game.

This is correct.

Every update will overwrite your names and world default file. It won't affect an existing league, but it will for any you start afterwards. Those of us who are serial name/nation modders, will usually keep a backup copy of our modded names files in the database folder so it's easier to revert back when the game updates.

Quick follow-up question, if I may?

Can the same be said for "Injuries"??
Does a really old game use the file at creation? Assume yes, like names?

And would reloading an injuries data file take advantage of any tweaks in the game with respect to injuries?
Good idea or not?
