Player rating

How are player rating calculated? I'm kinda surprised nobody else has said anything but has anyone else noticed on the REAL LIFE STATS of every player at every position that the 2021 season is missing ? NOne of the previous season of PT was the year before stats missing. And those stat were from a complete season. Some of these players rating are nowhere close to what they achieved last year. But why are last years REAL LIFE STATS missing? For instance the 2022 Carlos Rodon card can't be rated for his REAL LIFE STATS of 2021. The guy had a 2.37 ERA and was in CY Young conversion & he's a gold card. Hell Myles Straw is a DIAMOND...PLEASE....This version just a mess. Apparently in 2022 we are using 2020 stats for these cards...Along with other issues that no one seems to care about.....just a mess

Look Rodon had 50 more K's than innings pitched had a 3.1 walk to 13.6 K ration....go look at his 88 gold card13.6 k to 3.1 walk...they must be using 2020 stats for this year..so many players cards are just not right

The pre-season ratings are based off of OOTPs own internal projections. I believe they are very close to ZiPS, but not quite the exact same.

Then they go up and down from there based on deviation from those projections over time, along with the rest of the league performance.

At least for the component ratings themselves. I think the card overall is based on both overall card distribution and the set it is in (Live cards are on their own spectrum, future legends on their own spectrum, etc but they do take the entirety of the cards released into account as well.)
