Trying to make a fictional league with a wacky strategy

So I'm in the process of making a fictional association that will grow in the number of leagues over time, currently starting with just two (one in Cuba, one in Burkina Faso). The twist is that I want the strategy to be something like an absurd amount of stealing and bunting, ZERO home runs, openers almost every game, very low pitcher stamina, etc, and seeing what kind of records pop up a few decades down the line.

Aka, I don't want the strategy to automatically change over time at all.

My problem is that I don't think I fully understand some of the on/off options in the league settings, I'd appreciate someone being able to ELI5 to me, since right now I'm still experiencing CGSOs and double-digit home run hitters.

What exactly does "Automatically adjust league totals modifiers after each season for accuracy" mean/do? When is it beneficial to have it on vs off, and which would you suggest for this save?

#2: On the right side of the "Stats and AI" tab, it lists some of those league total "modifiers" that I assume the previously mentioned setting was referring to, but of course I don't have any tangible frame of reference as to how sensitive the modifiers are. The home run modifier in that screenshot is at .083, but I'd actually set it to 0 a year earlier, so I'm not sure what made it increase. I was hoping for 0 home runs from the entire league.

What's more, the three checkbox settings beneath the league total modifiers put the cherry on top of the "Uhh I'm not positive which settings would be the best for this endeavor" sundae. I do have minor leagues going for each of those leagues as well, so maybe the latter checkbox "controlling the in-game engine" should be useful?

Any and all suggestions would be helpful! This is my first endeavor into fictional leagues (especially with associations).

Try changing the 178 HR that the league is expected to generate and turning it to zero. If you are in 1882 and have toggle checked to adjust the league total modifiers after each season as you do, I imagine there is a risk of 1883 numbers overwriting your zero HR preference. Try the toggle above it and lock in your zero HR total and the other totals. If you want to change it after a year of observing results, since you locked out the modifiers, I reckon you would just change the totals.

I confess I've never planned a league quite like this but that's my best guess on what to tweak.
