Making Pacific Coast League a Major League

Is there a way inside a save to make the PCL a Major League level with MLB league rules and setup options?

Like would I have to make a new league and move all the teams? Or can I just say the PCL is a major league?

Are you playing historical or fictional? You can add any league to an existing league.

One of my league ideas is to take MLB 1901 and add fed, PCL & NNL as ML's. So I might have to do manual expansion vs evolution or just create them as a fictional league with the real names and maybe add real players each year.

It was a Live Start. So its the 2022-23 off-season and I want to make the Il and PCL peer leagues to the MLB. I unaffilaited them, but the league rules options are still very basic. Is this kinda stuck?

If I start a new league and move all the PCL team into in that would work, but won't making a new league generate new teams and players? I don't want new teams and new players.

Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure the game is able to accommodate more than one "major" league. I think everything is built on the assumption of one major league with two sub-leagues.

In the league settings, you can change the league level from AAA to Major League.

A game can include any number of Major Leagues, each with one or two subleagues.

EDIT: Looks like you already figured this out. Sorry!

Easy! Just go into the league settings. Go to teams, and then from there youll see an option for various things, like level and affiliated league. Change the level to the MLB and under affiliated league you switch it to None. This way the PCL is independent from the MLB and is now a major league. You can also change it's reputation. You might also need to change financials as the Minors dont have financials turned on.

I think the best way to do this is to create a new league, then edit those teams and move the players over, then finally delete the old minor PCL. Double-check all the players are moved! Then you can randomize budgets and contracts or set those too.

you can make a new major league with the association feature. i don't think the feature is as fully developed as it could be, but on OOTP 21 i ran my Negro Leagues as a distinct Major League, scheduled a World Companionship after the "real" majors were done with their WS. After a while, got bored with it, and migrated the Negro League teams into my regular majors and played that way until i decided to create a different world and deleted the whole thing.

Yeah...the Association feature is still a rather basic thing at this point, with the only common rules you can set being basic roster rules and a common draft. I don't see an option for an All-Star Game for the two-league association in my fictional game, either.

It would be nice to see some more options in there, like a communal offseason start date and some other rules/regs options, but at the same time I do understand an Association is supposed to be more like the loose association the AL & NL had for a long time.

It would be nice to set colors and a logo for the Association, if you're into custom graphics.

All well said, it's been on fictional nerd wishlists every year! Alternately, if there were a way to have multiple subleagues that would be ok too although not as useful as better associations.
