Are there ratings for work ethic, intelligence, etc?
I’ve read a few posts saying it’s important to pay attention to the intangibles like work ethic etc.
The only reference I can see to work ethic is in player profile under personality, for example ‘a very hard worker’. Are there ratings for these things that I am missing? |

There are, but you have to go into the editor now to see them all. If they're not mentioned on the main profile, however, then they're probably not that significantly high or low.

Pay attention to the colour also. In this example the player has "Green" for Greed, and "Orange" for "Intelligence".
Green is good, Orange is bad. Green is the best and red worst. So this player is good in the greed category, meaning he won't be demanding mega $$$ in a contract. If it were orange or red, he would ask for a lot. He's also not very smart. _ |

I believe there is only green for good and orange for bad in personality traits. If any trait is not listed, you can assume it is average. There isn't a whole scale available to see like there is for baseball attributes.

League setup, Players & Facegen Tab - left side about halfway down, check the box that says "Show Player Personality Ratings on profile page"

There is also a view that can be selected on on views of players on your team (pitching, lineups, etc) called "Personality & Morale" that will show the personality ratings for everyone being displayed. You can also customize views to add some/all to a view. I often add WE to my roster vies for example.

Is there no longer a way to have personality ratings be shown on the player's BNN profile page? I know this was there at least through OOTP 15. I always liked having work ethic, greed, intelligence, etc. listed and color-coded alongside all their stats and biographical information.

Hi Joelman, I did enable that setting but it still does not work as it had in prior versions. For instance, one of my players' BNN pages simply reads: "High: Loyalty." The majority of players still show no personality ratings on their profiles.

That is how it worked in previous iterations I believe? It shows High and Low personality traits- all unlisted traits are considered average. How did you expect it to differ?

One thing I'd like to see a bit more of is that the Adaptability rating was added a few years later than the other personality skills and one artifact of that is that it's not included in the "types". As a result, you do occasionally get comments like "Rolls with the punches" when a player has a low Adaptability rating. There also feels like there's a lot of, um, euphemisms to avoid talking about guys as though they have the RA (the red ass) even though that's been a huge part of baseball personality and probably one of the biggest sources of conflicts (the various "low Adaptability" guys getting mad at each other and throwing punches, etc.). There were those kinds of players in the 50s and 60s and there are those kinds of players today.

Controversy implications
What are the implications of having a high controversy rating? I'm assuming it's heightened chances of suspensions or maybe lowering morale due to their actions, but I would like to be sure before I base roster decisions on it.
