International Amateur FAs Money Question

If the league is set to a hard cap, I only ever end up getting one good player because they all want the cap or close to it. In real life, we see teams signing multiple highly touted players in this system. Am I missing a setting somewhere that would make it more realistic?

I agree. If the $5 million cap is set, a good player will inevitably cost the entire $5 million. If no cap is set, the signing fee will go ridiculously high ($20 to 30 million). Would be nice to keep the $5 million cap but still be able to land 2 or 3 good IFAs for $5 million, as happens in the real world.

I believe with how the system is set the IFAs that are seen are the "cream of the crop." The International Findings act as your 2 through x players that mimic the remaining balance players that real life teams sign.

The IFA system in game really needs some work. With a hard cap and the default IFA created, the IFA pool is too small to have every team get a decent to good prospect and the strategy is effectively pick the best 80 grade prospect, give him 5 mil and hope he signs since even lower grade prospect will end up need 5 mil to sign anyway.

I tried going with a soft cap and more IFA generated and it worked well for the first few years but when your team gets good, you get a prospect pipeline established and your budget increases it throws the balance of the league off. Even with the penalty for going over the cap (i.e. not being able to sign any IFA), I was able to sign all the 50+ pot guys every two years. If you leave the number of IFA generated to default it leads to guys asking for 15-20 mil which is ridiculous.

The only compromise I've seen that kind of works is to go with very few IFA, bigger international complex and up the scouting discoveries to the max. This wil lead to fewer high drade IFA to sign and all of them demanding the max amount or near the max amount, but it is more organic since it rewards having a scout that is good at international and putting more money into scouting international.
